I know that sounds spooky, but I have in fact experienced the most power in the distant healing I gave for the first time to my partner. It is almost indescribable what I have felt in this moment. I could feel the energy transmitting from me into a different sphere towards him. Energy is this incredible medium that is everywhere. In fact, everything is energy and when you look at Quantum Physics it is possible for energy to travel in time and space. I know, it is a lot to grasp. It has been for me too, and a part inside of me still doesn´t fully understand it. All I know is that it works.
So, what is Reiki? Reiki is this beautiful healing, divine energy that enhances the body´s self-healing capacities. The Reiki system originated in Japan and is now found all over the world. Reiki is based on two Japanese words – “Rei” meaning Higher power or God´s wisdom and “Ki” as in life force. As a Reiki Healer I will be a channel for this divine energy and use my hands to transmit the energy to others. Reiki energy will not only touch the physical body, but also the mental, spiritual, and emotional part of a human being. It has the ability to help people find more balance and harmony in their whole being. All I can say is that I love this beautiful way of connecting and helping people to heal and that I will introduce this new skill into my services. So, if you are intrigued to give it a try please feel free to contact me to book a session.

When I feel small in a world so big,
I tell my wiggling body: be still. I tell my thinking mind: be quiet. I tell my racing breath: be slow. I close my eyes and make room in my mind, my heart, to create and imagine. I am Yoga. I can touch the sky. I am so tall. I can soar among the clouds. I am so free. I can sparkle with the stars. I shimmer and shine. I can dance with the moon. I light up the night. I can sail on the sea. I go with the flow. I can open my heart: I feel love. I can see far and wide. I am focused. I can turn things upside down. I am playful. I can stand up for me, I can stand up for others, I can stand up for peace. I can open like a flower. I am beautiful I can carry beauty with me. I am full. I can say I´ve had enough for today. I relax. I can rest. I am calm. Now the world is just right speed. Now my world is just the right size. Now I see, I fit in just fine. I am Yoga. I can be anything!
If you feel the stress creeping up on you again, try some simple Yoga poses to release it and observe your body´s reaction.
Child´s Pose – one of the most grounding poses in Yoga. Whenever the world gets too overwhelming, just curl up in this pose for 5 minutes and feel your body slowly relaxing. Legs up the wall – with this pose you bring the blood out of your legs into your belly, which helps to enter the Parasympathetic Nervous System to relax and digest. Spend 5 minutes in this pose and benefit from it. Warrior III – or any other balancing pose like tree pose will help you get out of your busy mind. Just give it a try and see what happens with your thoughts when holding the Warrior III for 2 minutes. Bridge Pose – especially supported this pose will help de-stress. If you add deep belly breathing it might even decrease the feeling of anxiety. Forward Fold – helps release headache and tension in your head, decreases the level of stress in your body and reduces fatigue. Stress is a natural respond to a potentially dangerous situation, and it is needed for the body to take all necessary measures to survive. However, in today’s life we are experiencing constant stress and don´t complete the cycle to release stress out of the body and to let the body experience safety. This is number one reason for increased mental health issues.
But why are we in this constant stress cycle? Our minds are constantly spinning around the future or dwelling on the past. Even with these thoughts you are placing your body into potential threatening situations. Your body doesn´t distinguish between a thread in the past, future, or present moment. If you are worried about your finances for the rest of the year, your body will experience this fear right now and release all the stress hormones as if you would face a lion right now. So, it is very important to observe your thoughts and bring yourself in to the present moment. I know, I know everyone is constantly talking about this present moment, but maybe now you understand a bit more why that is. If we go way back to our ancestors living in caves, they had no time to think about the next day. All they were worried about was now and how they survive in the wilderness. When they faced a tiger, their bodies were filled with adrenaline and cortisol to face the danger. But as soon as they were back safe in their caves, their bodies calmed down. They shock off the stress and continued with their daily activities of life. We don´t experience these life-threatening challenges in life anymore, but your body reacts to the smaller challenges like your fears and worries about the future in exactly the same way as if you would have to fight a tiger. And if you don´t learn to release these thoughts and shack of the stress moments, your body is placed in constant stress, that will make you sick over time. Not only mentally but also physically. So, the present moment should definitely be your best friend, at least for your own health’s sake. As stress is our regular companion why not get to know it better and understand when it comes visiting and what it does to us? Here are some questions to contemplate over. |
